Fleur du Mal Red Slip Dress

The Fleur du Mal Red Slip Dress
If you asked me last year if I would own as much red in my closet as I do now, I would have thought you were crazy. Now that I can’t be stopped with pops of red, when I saw this slip dress I immediately had a million ideas on how to wear it. Here are my thoughts on dressing this up and also dressing it down for a daytime look.
Wedding Guest Dress or Date Night
The beauty of the dress is in its simplicity, just pairing the red slip dress with some pumps (I love it with the Gianvito Rossi silver pumps). Y’all know I love a hair accessory, so I had to pair it with one of my favorite bows, the Ivory Raffia Paloma Bow Barrette from Lele Sadoughi.

Brunch or Daytime
This dress is perfect for travel because it takes up no space in the suitcase and is versatile for day and night. At first glance, you’re like, “How in the world would I wear this for daytime?”
The key is to look at it like a base layer and as a slip skirt. I love the idea of throwing the Sezane Gaspard cardigan over it buttoned up all the way (or leaving just one button unbuttoned). Pair it with some Hermes sandals and a basket bag and you’re good to go!

The Fleur du Mal Red Slip Dress Sizing
One of the reasons I chose this dress is because I knew it would be petite-friendly. I usually look at where the dress sits on the model and determine if I’m going to need to get it hemmed or not. At 5’1″ this hit me mid-calf which was perfect for the look I was going for.
The slip dress has adjustable straps that make the dress fit you right when you put it on. It’s so annoying to have to go to the tailor just to get some straps altered. A dress with adjustable straps is just as exciting to me as a dress with pockets.
Another call out that may sound silly is that the zipper is on the side. As someone who lives alone, having a zipper on the size is GAME CHANGING when getting ready. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, zipping up a dress in the back solo seems like an impossible feat.
