MEET TAYLOR OF A PEARL KIND OF GIRL

Meet Taylor of APearlKindofGirl.com I met Taylor, the Texas blogger behind of A Pearl Kind of Girl, three years ago during a summer internship. We were both interns in the marketing department at the Michaels corporate offices in Texas. Taylor, our friend Tony, and I bonded over our love for Starbucks runs and sharing stories of our weekends. At one point we were going to Starbucks twice a day for chai lattes. They knew us and our orders. Taylor has been an amazing blogging buddy and we are there for each other whenever we need blogging encouragement. If you're a blogger and don't have a blogging buddy yet, you need one!

What would your freshman year self be most surprised about you today? My freshman self would be very surprised with how outgoing I have become in the past four years, I was so shy when I came to OU. My style has even been affected by my more outgoing personality; I am more willing to wear color, patterns, and cutouts.

What are you studying in school and what do you hope to do after graduation? I am majoring in Communication. Post graduation I would like to move back to Dallas and find a creative job I love.

As a style blogger, how do you stay inspired while on the University of Oklahoma campus? When I am in Norman I surround myself with people who inspire me. Most of my friends are from Dallas, Houston, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, so they understand how to dress well and bring different styles to Norman. Pinterest and Instagram are of course a guilty pleasure and flood my mind with wild ideas.

Meet Taylor of APearlKindofGirl.comWhat lessons have you learned while balancing your studies and your blog? I have learned how precious time really is and that everyone needs a planner. I started using a Day Designer this year and have taken great advantage of the “to do list” section.

When work gets overwhelming, how do you bring sanity to your day? Surrounding myself with others helps to keep me sane. While I need some alone time to focus and get things accomplished, I love personal interactions. There is a great deal that can be learned from others and sometime to keep you just need to look at life from someone else’s shoes.

Being in your 20s QuoteWhat has been the most rewarding part of A Pearl Kind of Girl? Starting A Pearl Kind of Girl from the ground up and seeing that others enjoy following has been beyond rewarding. I never expected A Pearl Kind of Girl to grow as much as it has and I consider its huge progression as on of my greatest accomplishments.

What dreams do you have for APKG? I would like to watch A Pearl Kind of Girl continue to grow. I hope I can continue to provide the inspiration my followers are looking for.
