winter travel outfit: dress in layers and for comfort
I am so excited to share my first outfit post from Los Angeles! This winter travel outfit was shot on Melrose Place, one of my favorite Los Angeles locations and the home of one of my favorite coffee shops, Alfred Coffee. I had so much fun shooting for the first time with Elyana of Elyana Photography. Elyana and I went to LMU together and she has since grown her career in photography. When I moved to LA, she was the first person who I thought of would be great to work with for photography. Check out her blog for photography tips and inspiration.
When it comes to choosing a winter travel outfit, I look for layers and comfort. This year I'm heading home to Kansas City, which is why dressing in layers is such a necessity. I'll be going from 70 degree weather in California to possible snow in Kansas City in only three hours. Layering is also important because you never know if the plane is going to be too cold or have the heat on too high. This Kensie sweater is a few years old, but it makes its way to the front of my wardrobe every winter. Because of its oversize fit and short sleeves, it's still comfortable even with a thick sweater underneath. I also like to wear it with a short sleeve tee on warmer winter days. These Joe's Jeans are also comfortable for travel and of course my Rag & Bone booties are a necessity as well. They're easy to quickly slip on and off in the TSA line and let's be real, I'll do anything to get through that line as quickly as possible.
